Propelle aims to increase the participation of women and girls in outdoor activities, as confidence in the outdoors can accelerate achievement in other aspects of life.

CHANGING PERCEPTIONS

A study of outdoor advertising concluded that women were:

  • depicted as participating in less physically and time demanding outdoor pursuits

  • shown as followers rather than leaders 

  • seen as either escaping from motherhood or being the instigator of outdoor time with their families*

Propelle aspires to change all that.

 Outdoor gear, activities, and training are expensive and women often site the price tag as a significant barrier to entry.
